Delivery and returns
Freight delivery is $249, shown at checkout. The door ships from our US warehouse, arrives in 5 to 10 business days and is delivered to the curb. Check the crate and the glass before you sign for it.
Doors cannot be returned, so check your rough opening and hinge side before you order.
If the door arrives damaged, or it is the wrong item, note it on the delivery receipt and email support@saunom.com with photos within 5 business days of delivery. We replace it or refund you in full, freight included.
Warranty
1-year limited warranty, starting on the delivery date. It covers defects in materials and workmanship in the hinges, handle, roller catch, gasket and alder frame. If one of these fails within a year, we send a replacement part or replace the door.
Not covered: glass broken by impact, by contact with a hard surface or during installation, damage from taking the glass off its hinges or modifying the door or frame, use in a steam room, and natural colour change in the wood.

Black Glass Sauna Door with a Solid Alder Frame
A clear door shows the whole room. Grey glass keeps it more private. This Portti pairs 8mm grey tempered glass with a solid alder frame finished in black. Light still comes through, the view into the room is softer, and a gasket on both sides and the top keeps the heat where it belongs.
Sauna Door Dimensions and Rough Opening
Measure the framed hole in your sauna wall before you order. The door arrives pre-hung in its frame and is not cut to fit on site.
Stand outside the sauna and face the door. The hinges are on your right and the door swings out toward you.
Three checks before you order
- 1Opening size. 28 in wide by 76 in high. That leaves about ½ in each side and 1⅝ in above the frame for shims.
- 2Hinge side. Right-hand works with your room and nothing blocks the door when it swings out.
- 3Wall thickness. The frame is 3⅝ in deep. A thicker wall is finished with trim around the frame (not included).
Doors cannot be returned if they do not fit, so measure before you order.

Sauna Door Shipping and Delivery
A glass door travels by freight, not by parcel. Here is what happens between checkout and your wall.
Freight is $249
A flat $249 freight charge to the lower 48 states is added at checkout, so the door costs $1,218 delivered. Doors ship to the lower 48 states only.
It ships from our US warehouse and arrives in 5 to 10 business days.
Delivered to the curb
The driver unloads the crate at the curb or driveway and does not carry it inside.

Check it before you sign
Look for crushed corners or holes in the crate, then look at the glass and the frame.
If you see damage, write it on the delivery receipt before signing and take photos. Then email support@saunom.com with your order number within 5 business days and we will replace the door or refund you.

Glass Sauna Door FAQ
What size is this door, and what rough opening do I need?
The complete door, frame included, is 27 in wide by 74⅜ in tall (686 x 1890 mm), and the frame is 3⅝ in deep. It needs a rough opening of 28 in by 76 in. Measure your opening against these figures before ordering, since the door arrives pre-hung, is not cut to fit on site, and cannot be returned if it does not fit.
How do I measure my rough opening to make sure it fits?
Measure the framed opening in your sauna wall, meaning the gap left for the door unit, not a finished door. Check width at the top, middle, and bottom, and height on both sides, then use the smallest reading. This door needs a 28 in by 76 in rough opening, and your smallest reading must be larger than the 27 in by 74⅜ in frame.
What does "pre-hung" mean, and do I still need to frame the opening?
Pre-hung means the glass panel arrives already mounted on its hinges in the alder jamb, so you install the complete unit rather than hanging a loose glass panel. The handle comes in the crate and is fitted last with the included hex key. You still need a correctly sized, square rough opening framed into your sauna wall. The door drops into that opening, then gets shimmed level and secured.
Can I install this myself, or do I need a professional?
Many builders install a pre-hung sauna door themselves if they are comfortable setting a door into a framed opening, shimming it level, and fastening the jamb. The work is standard door hanging, not specialized glass work. Plan for two people. If your opening needs adjusting or you are unsure it is square, a carpenter can handle it quickly.
Which way does the door swing, and is it reversible?
Sauna doors open outward, the safety standard for the category, and this door follows that convention. It is right-hand hinged: standing outside the sauna, the hinges are on your right. Plan your layout around a right-hand door and confirm the hinge side before purchasing. Changing the swing means rebuilding part of the frame. It is described in the installation guide that comes with the door and is best left to an experienced installer.
What happens if the glass breaks?
The panel is tempered glass, which is far stronger than ordinary annealed glass and, if it ever does break, fragments into small blunt pieces rather than long sharp shards. That fragmentation behavior is the core safety property of tempered glass and the reason it is the standard for sauna doors.
Will the glass crack or break from the sauna heat?
Tempered glass is made to tolerate the heat and the heat-to-cool swings of regular sauna use, and it resists thermal stress far better than ordinary glass. Avoid pouring cold water directly onto hot glass or striking the edges, since sharp impacts and extreme local shocks are what put any glass at risk.
Does the glass get too hot to touch?
The glass warms during a session, but the panel sits at the door, away from the heater, so it stays cooler than the stones or the air near the ceiling. Open the door using the handle rather than pressing your palm flat against warm glass, and it is comfortable to use throughout a session.
Does the glass fog up during a session?
Light condensation can form on the glass during a humid session, the same way a bathroom mirror fogs, and it clears as the sauna airs out afterward. It is surface moisture, not damage. Leaving the door open to dry after each use keeps the glass clear and prevents water spotting over time.
How thick is the glass?
The glass is 8mm (about 5/16 inch) thick, tempered glass.
What is the difference between the Grey and Clear glass?
Clear glass is fully transparent and makes a compact sauna feel open and bright. Grey is a tinted, semi-private glass that softens the view into the room while still letting light through. Both use the same tempered glass, so the choice comes down to privacy and look.
Does the handle get too hot to hold?
No. The handle you hold from inside the sauna is wood with a black finish, and wood stays far more comfortable to the touch in a hot sauna than bare metal would. The outside handle is black metal, and it sits outside the hot room.
Why is the jamb made of alder, and will it warp or need sealing?
Alder is the traditional Nordic choice for sauna joinery. It is a light, fine-grained hardwood with no resin to bleed in the heat, it conducts little heat so it stays comfortable to touch, and it keeps its shape well through heat and humidity changes. This frame arrives finished in black, so it does not need sealing or oil. Keep standing water away from the foot of the jamb.
Does the door seal tightly enough to hold heat in?
The frame has a rubber gasket on both sides and across the top, and the roller catch holds the glass against it. The bottom is open on purpose: there is no bottom jamb, and a gap of about 1 in at the floor lets fresh air in. Sauna doors are not built to be airtight, because a sauna needs air exchange to run well and to dry out afterward.
Do sauna doors open inward or outward?
Sauna doors open outward, and this door is no exception. Outswing is the safety standard for saunas, because an outward-opening door cannot be blocked by anyone inside and is never jammed shut by heat expansion. It is the convention every properly built sauna door follows, not a brand-specific feature.
Can the door lock, and could someone get trapped inside?
The door does not lock, by design. A sauna door must never lock so no one can be shut in. It closes on a roller catch that holds it shut during a session, and a push from inside always opens it. There are no keys and no locking mechanism on either side.
Is a glass sauna door safe with children?
Treat it like any sauna door. A child should never be in a sauna without an adult present, and this door is built so it can always be opened and never locks. The panel is tempered glass, the category safety standard. Adult supervision is the real safeguard, on any door.
Can I use this door on an outdoor, steam, or infrared sauna?
Yes for outdoor and infrared saunas, no for steam rooms. The door suits traditional and infrared saunas, indoors or outdoors. It is not made for a steam room, where the frame and hardware would stay wet all the time.
How do I clean the glass and the frame?
Wipe the glass with a soft cloth and a mild glass cleaner or diluted white vinegar, avoiding abrasive pads that can scratch. Give the frame a quick pass with a damp microfiber cloth to keep it looking clean. Drying the door after use reduces spotting.
Why choose a glass door over a traditional wood sauna door?
A glass door lets light flow into the sauna, makes a small room feel open, and lets you see in and out, which a solid wood door cannot. Tempered glass also will not warp, swell, or absorb odors the way wood can over time. The alder jamb still gives you a real wood frame, here in black.
Can I use a regular shower door on my sauna instead?
A standard shower door is not a substitute. Shower doors are built for warm, wet conditions, not the sustained high heat of a sauna, and they may use glass, seals, frames, or hardware that are not rated for it. A purpose-built sauna door uses tempered glass, an outswing safety design, and heat-rated materials throughout.
How long will it last, and what does the warranty cover?
The door is built from materials chosen to last through regular sauna use: tempered glass and a solid alder jamb. It includes a 1-year limited warranty that covers defects in the hinges, handle, roller catch, gasket and frame. If one of these fails within a year, we send a replacement part or replace the door. Glass broken by impact or during installation is not covered. To make a claim, email support@saunom.com with your order number and photos.
The door ships freight. What if it arrives damaged?
A pre-hung glass door is heavy and ships by freight for a flat $249, delivered to the curb. Inspect it on arrival before signing for it. If you see damage to the packaging or the glass, write it on the delivery receipt, take photos, and email support@saunom.com with your order number within 5 business days of delivery.
What hinges does the door use?
The door uses hinges from Abloy, the Finnish hardware manufacturer founded in 1907 and known for precision door and lock hardware. The hinges come already fitted into the alder jamb as part of the pre-hung unit, so they arrive set and aligned. Do not take the glass off the hinges during installation.
