FAQ
Can you use a speaker in a sauna?
Can you use a speaker in a sauna?
Yes, if it is built for it. It needs a heat rating and a real water seal. The Kaiku is rated to 140°F and IPX7 waterproof, so it keeps playing where a normal speaker shuts off.
Are Bluetooth speakers safe in a sauna?
Are Bluetooth speakers safe in a sauna?
A sauna-rated one is, as long as you keep it inside its heat rating. Lower or mid bench in a hot sauna, anywhere in an infrared one, and away from the heater. A speaker with no heat rating is the real risk.
How do you connect it?
How do you connect it?
Pair it to your phone over Bluetooth once, and it reconnects on its own after that. Pair two Kaiku units for stereo.
Where should you place it in the sauna?
Where should you place it in the sauna?
On a bench or shelf, not on the heater. In a hot traditional sauna, keep it on a lower or mid bench.
Does it work in an infrared sauna?
Does it work in an infrared sauna?
Yes. Infrared runs cooler (about 45 to 60°C), so it stays well inside its rating anywhere in the cabin.
How do you listen to music in a sauna?
How do you listen to music in a sauna?
Use a speaker built for heat and steam, then play from your phone over Bluetooth. A regular speaker will struggle with the temperature and moisture, so a sauna-rated one like the Kaiku is what keeps the music going. Set it on a lower or mid bench, pair once, and it reconnects on its own each session.
How long does the battery last?
How long does the battery last?
6 to 10 hours of play on a single charge, from a 1200mAh battery, which covers weeks of typical sauna sessions. It charges over standard USB-C with the cable in the box, so you top it up with the same cable as your phone.
Can you use it outside the sauna?
Can you use it outside the sauna?
Yes. Because it is IPX7 waterproof, it works anywhere wet, the shower, the hot tub, the pool deck or the patio. Rinse it clean under the tap when you are done.
